About

As an Event & Project Manager at MetalDays festival, the biggest music festival in Slovenia, I am responsible for the organization and promotion of this annual event for over nine years. I have applied my skills and knowledge in event management, project management, live event production, and marketing, to create memorable experiences for thousands of music fans, artists, and partners. I have also been committed to the vision of making MetalDays a sustainable, low-carbon, zero-waste event, and have received the A Greener Festival Award for our efforts.

In June 2023, I co-founded Heavy Harmony retreat, the first ever retreat dedicated fully to musicians and music industry professionals on the island of Zanzibar. With a focus on activities that can help individuals develop present-moment awareness, reduce anxiety, improve focus, and cultivate a sense of inner peace, Heavy Harmony retreat aims to promote the mental health and wellbeing of our industry, which has suffered greatly from the effects of the pandemic, the fast-paced life, and the isolation caused by technology. As a co-founder, I am responsible for the event and sustainability management, as well as the facilitation of yoga, meditation, breathwork, and horticultural therapy sessions. I am passionate about sharing my expertise and experience in these fields, as I am a certified Yoga RYT500 & Therapeutic yoga teacher, Meditation and Breathwork teacher, and have a certificate in Horticultural Therapy. I am also a speaker and moderator at music and festival events conferences, and a professional mentor for young music and event professionals.

Mentoring

Mentoring in the event industry is essential for nurturing the next generation of event planners, producers, and artists, as it empowers aspiring industry professionals to navigate a complex and competitive field. Through mentorship, professionals can pass on their knowledge, guide talent development, and foster innovation. It provides a platform for experienced professionals to share expertise, cultivate creativity, and uphold industry standards, ultimately enhancing the quality and innovation of events for both participants and audiences, ultimately ensuring the continuity and vitality of the music industry for generations to come.
Being a professional mentor for young music and event professionals can be mutually beneficial, with advantages for both the mentors and the mentees.
Here are some reasons why you should choose mentoring and why mentoring for your professionals matters:
Skill Development: Mentees can gain valuable insights and knowledge from experienced mentors. They can learn about the technical aspects of music and event production, industry trends, and best practices.
Networking: Mentors often have extensive networks in the music and event industry. Through the mentorship relationship, mentees can expand their own professional networks, which can lead to new opportunities and collaborations.
Career Guidance: Mentors can provide guidance on career paths and help mentees set realistic goals. They can share their own experiences and offer advice on how to navigate the challenges of the industry.
Confidence Building: Having a mentor can boost a young professional’s confidence. Knowing that they have a knowledgeable and experienced person to turn to for advice can help mentees make more informed decisions and take calculated risks.
Feedback and Improvement: Mentors can provide constructive feedback on the mentee’s work, helping them identify areas for improvement. This feedback loop is essential for professional growth.
Long-Term Perspective: Mentors can offer a long-term perspective on the industry, helping mentees see beyond short-term challenges and focus on their overall career development.
